Description |
Drawing of the tomb of Fra' Alexandre de Loubert de Martainville (died 1749), now in the Oratory of Saint John's Co-Cathedral in Valletta. Fra' Alexandre entered the order in 1700, becoming a sub-lieutenant 10 January 1707, lieutenant 15 March 1713, captain of the San Giovanni II 9 January 1724, of the San Vincenzo 22 June 1727, and of the San Giorgio 23 June 1728. He received in the Langue of France and was commander of Sours and d'Arville. Coat of arms of the de Loubert family surmounted en chef by the cross of the Order of Saint John. The symbol of time flies and skull and cross bones can be found on the tomb. |
