Description |
Engraving depicting Don Quixote's knighting by the innkeeper in the inn yard. After a 1724 design by Charles-Antoine Coypel, in reverse and with elements added by Folkema to rearrange the image into a vertical format. Part of a set of engravings designed after Coypel with Spanish captions by Fokke, Folkema, and others. This engraving was included in: Vida y hechos del ingenioso Don Quixote de la Mancha (Amsterdam y Lipsia: Arkstée & Merkus, 1755). Numbered “Tom. I. page 25” on the plate. |
