Etching with engraving, depicting the presentation of Christ to the people prior to his crucifixion. In the foreground is a crowd of people, turned to face a doorway. There soldiers present Christ, stripped, cloaked and crowned with thorns. Text in the lower margin reads: "Purpurea quid opus ueste? heu! num cernis ut illi Omnia purpurea membra cruore rubent?" |
