Description |
Woodcut showing two scenes from Exodus. The recto shows the various steps in making bricks, including gathering mud, putting it in forms, firing the bricks, and stacking them. The verso shows Moses' mother placing a basket labeled "Moises" in the river. Other Hebrew babies are seen tossed into the Nile by Egyptians dressed in 16th century clothing. A small cross at the lower right may be an artist's mark. |
